2010-August-20: Goal Accomplished: Generous Hearts Instill Hope
The earthquake came the day after the administration roof was rebuilt. Had the repairs not been complete, the building might have been destroyed. On August 20, the remodel of the entire administration building was finished. Everyone celebrated the new roof, the dry and snug porch, the new staff room and the fresh coat of paint that makes the building so inviting. Inside, the reconfigured spaces will help make life a little easier and the work of the Refuge more efficient. The psychologist and social worker rejoiced to move into their newly refurbished, repaired, and reconfigured offices. Best of all, there are now places for families to meet and private spaces for counseling. The Refuge staff is hard at work, using every nook and cranny to help the girls make a successful transition to the world outside.
